Agents

The local coding agents Sentinel can drive, side by side.

Sentinel can run a thread on any of these agents. Each one runs locally, under your own account, and Sentinel keeps the thread, the workspace, and the repo state around it.

The engines overview covers what they share: instances, homes, install and update, sign-in, usage limits, skills, and the engine manifest.

Permission modes are Sentinel's: Default limits tools to the selected workspace, Accept edits applies file edits without asking while other actions still ask, Auto lets the agent decide what needs approval, and Full lets tools reach any path on the machine. Each agent maps them to its own settings.

Plan mode either uses the agent's own plan mode or, where there is none, Sentinel's plan prompt, which asks the agent to plan before it edits.

Stability

Claude, Codex, Copilot, Cursor, and OpenCode are stable. Grok Build, Antigravity, Pi, and ACP Registry agents are experimental: they work, but expect rough edges.
